Heretat Mas Tinell is located in the heart of the Denominación de Origen* (D.O.) Penedès region. Surrounded by its own vineyards, it produces its own wines and cavas following a labour-intensive complex production process. A process which commences with the careful nurturing of the vines and concludes, following a lengthy ageing period in our cellars, with the strictest quality control of the finished product.

The nature of the terroir in which Heretat Mas Tinell lies bestows on its products the savoir-faire of 2000 years of wine-making experience. Way back in the 1st century AD while passing through this area, Pliny the Elder (a famous Roman traveller) wrote about the excellent wines produced between the Roman cities of Tarraco and Barcino (today known as Tarragona and Barcelona). The precise location of Heretat Mas Tinell together with its Mediterranean environment in the foothills of the Sant Pau mountains, enjoying a gentle climate in the growing region, has enhanced the quality of the wines produced of these lands since ancient times.

Heretat Mas Tinell is a small winery with only a limited but assiduous production highly focused on quality. However, despite our small size, we have over the years gained numerous awards and recognitions for the quality of our wines and cavas. One of the most special and commendable was in 1997, when we were selected from the best 80 brands of cava to be served at the wedding of HRH the Infanta Cristinade Borbón and Iñaki Urdangarín. We were selected for this honour thanks to the success of our product "Brut Rea"l in the blind tasting (brand of product not shown) that the Cava Regulatory Board organised for this purpose.
Since then, Mas Tinell has enjoyed a constant presence at major events. For example, our "Cristina" cava was recognised as the "official cava of the Spanish Olympic Committee" for the last Olympic Games in Beijing 2008.
